VIKINGS LAND ROOKIE OF THE YEAR WAYLON MORRIS

The Brighton Vikings today announced the signing of reigning GMHL Rookie of the Year Waylon Morris, further signalling the team's intention to compete for a Russell Cup in its inaugural season.
Morris, a forward from Port Hope, tallied 36 points (14 goals, 22 assists) in 40 games with Durham last season.
"Waylon is a guy who can play the game any way you want: Physical, powerplay, in transition," said Vikings head coach Dennis Sicard, who mentored Morris last season with the Roadrunners. "He also has strong ties to the local community, and we know he's excited to play in front of friends and family — we can't wait to see his progress this season."
Morris becomes the seventh player signed by Brighton ahead of its 2026-27 debut season; the up-to-date roster is listed below.
F (4): Timofei Ergardt, Yenri Jibb, Thomas Meena, Waylon Morris
